Atrocity, Revamp by MKounelakis Atrocity, Revamp by MKounelakis
Before I finish up my Assault unit i decided to take a break on him today and redo a render on the atrocity. I really was never quite content with the render and texture, seeing as i did it almost a week before the deadline and decided not to touch it again. So here it is, a few renders and blends for shits and giggles. Enjoy!

did you use zspheres? how many polygons you use? retopologia did? I do a lot of questions?

:iconmkounelakis:

a couple of million for the final render. I didn't put time to retopoligize cuz i had a lot to do for school. And no, this piece was first made in 3ds max.

And no worries about the questions, im glad to help (=

You can do all that easily and without problem no matter when. UVs are not a problem in zbrush, especially since UV master came out today for zbrush plugins.

When I made this guy i did a mix of zspheres and base mesh in max, but at the time, we didnt have zspheres 2.

Also this guy was textured also in 3 different ways. As I was sculpting, i was also texturing at the same time, it can save a lot of time to do partial poly painting, then full on zapplink, and then playing with some stuff in photoshop.

Fantastic Work!
I've only just started using zbrush very recently and I was wondering if you made the textures in zbrush or made them before hand and then added it when then zbrush model was completed?
did you make a basic model in 3DS Max or Maya and import it into zbrush?
If you did I was wondering, are you able to UVW unwrap the basic model, texture it first and "then" import it into zbrush and modify it? as in increasing the polly count and change the shape of the model i.e. adding skin bumps etc, while having a texture already wrapped around the model?

Out of curiosity, why does the bump map look pixelated like that?

:iconmkounelakis:

There is no bump map. This is high res, a few million polygons.

Zbrush, then? I guess you needed to turn up the poly count a bit so that it dosen't look as pixelated

Looks like one of those dudes ripped out on creatine on the cover of a body-builder magazine. Compared to a few monsters I've seen in some of those body builder ads...this guy is down right normal. ;P

It's really good, the detail is really well done and it is all quite good. But I noticed a few spots on his shoulder and torso seem to be a bit pixely almost fuzzy like they weren't smoothed out. Other than that great job!!
